Kira Kim
Prolific Korean artist Kira Kim graduated with an MFA from Goldsmiths College in 2007, after gaining an MA in Environmental Sculpture in 2002 from Kyoung-Won University Graduate School, Korea.
Since 1999 Kira has exhibited in almost one hundred group shows, touring shows, biennales and art fairs all over the world, including in Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey, Chile, Argentina, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Amongst these were some very prestigious venues, such as the National Art Museum of China, the Art Armoury show in New York, ARCO International Art Fair in Spain, and most recently, Pilot 3 in London.
Kira has had seven solo shows, with a further two scheduled for the near future. He was supported by Arts Council England, for his 2007 solo show at the King’s Lynn Arts Centre Museum, UK, and he also won two Korean awards this year, one which entitles him to a National Art Studio for twelve months.
Kira’s work resides in fourteen public collections, and he has had over thirty television, newspaper and magazine reviews in various parts of the world, including GQ magazine here in Britain.
Kira Lives and works in Seoul and abroad.
